Blistering Heat & Competition in DC

Our short memory allowed us to again sign up for the Capital Dragon Boat Regatta in DC on August 27th. In 2014 we attended this event which was cold and rainy. This year it was hot and sunny! Despite the still lacking, bunker-like, athlete’s village, our team was in good spirits and weathered it well. Three new team members participated and their enthusiasm and flexibility were contagious. Thank you Sue, Gus, and Marian. We had good times and excellent timing, and the start in our last 500 race was on target. Alas, we competed again some of the best in the business and did not medal, but we were satisfied.

Cindy, a members of our Adult Dragon Boat Summer League, attended to lend support. She was our runner and championed our efforts. With this unflagging positive attitude, we need her on our team! Our gratitude to you, Cindy!!!

The day continued with our team dinner and all the crab you could pound out of that stubborn shell. For those not joining in the crab-fest, it was like eating at a construction site.

Whoa!

Whoa!

And Jeff and Merle fancied up and enjoyed calm, quiet, and Long Island Iced Tea!

Many paddlers took in the sights in DC and some just lounged at the amazing hotel pool. A successful weekend and great fun with great people!

What a team!!!! Go Paddlefish! Teamwork. Camaraderie. Power.
