Give it a Try!

The Paddlefish welcome you to experience dragon boating at one of our practice sessions. It is easy!  If you are interested in trying us on for size, joining our team, or have questions, please email us at:   pghpfish@gmail.com

You can paddle with us on three occasions without commitment.

We train at the Three Rivers Rowing Boathouse in Millvale.  For directions to our Millvale Training Facility click here.

There are many benefits to joining the team.

Ready to join the team? 

After you have experienced a few practices and have decided to join, you can start your membership with the Pittsburgh Paddlefish by following these steps:

1. JOIN PITTSBURGH PADDLEFISH 

Complete the  Paddlefish Membership Application and submt it to Membership Coordinator who can guide you through all steps in joining.

Submit Paddlefish dues payable by April 1 to the Treasurer. This fee covers miscellaneous costs, team events, and partial payments for races. It includes year-round Paddlefish affliliation.

  • Full Year:  April 1 to March 31 of the next year.  FEE:  $75.00.  Due:  April 1.
  • Partial Year:  Join on Aug 1 or after. FEE: $50.   Due at time of registration.
  • End of Year: Nov 1 to March 31 of the next year.  FEE: $25.00.  Due at time of registration.

2. JOIN THREE RIVERS ROWING ASSOCIATION (TRRA) – our parent organization

  • Register directly on the TRRA website. Read further for more details.
  • Pay fees. 2024 options are:                                                                                        –ANNUAL Membership Option:  $500.  This includes the spring through the fall water season and the winter indoor exercise program with the use of all the facilities.  See Membership Benefits.  There is an expectation that annual  members will volunteer a minimum of 16 hours to TRRA.                                        –6 MONTH Paddling Option:  $300.  This covers only the 6 months on the water from April through September.  There is an expectation that 6 month members will volunteer 8 hours to TRRA. It includes year-round Paddlefish affliliation and events, such as the team dinner.
  • To register, click HERE to go to the Paddling page of the TRRA website to find links to the Regatta Central Paddling “shopping cart”.
  • From the list, select the annual membership by age group or the 6-month paddling only option.
  • Add selection to the cart, then select Check-out to complete registration through Regatta Central. Create an account if not a previous participant.
  • In registration process, select the desired method of payment from three options:   Pay by Check:  $500                                                                                       Monthly Debit:   $500 +$25 admin fee (at checkout click “Check Payment”  to avoid using a credit card)                                                                                          Pay by Credit Card: $500 + $16.30 card fee.
  • Regatta Central will only show the credit card amount, which will be adjusted later if the pay by check or the monthly debit is chosen.
  •  Complete enrollment by clicking the “Register” button.

3.  SIGN TRRA & PADDLESPORT WAIVERS ONLINE

(If not completed electronically prior to first trial paddle)

4.  FULFILL THE TRRA SAFETY REQUIREMENTS as listed and explained HERE.  These include signing the waivers, completing a SWIM TEST, registering on iCrew for club management, submitting proof of Covid-19 vaccination, and getting certified in SafeSport, which is an online course to help provide safe and positive sport environments.
