Eleven Paddlefish were lucky enough to get to Space Coast Dragon Boat Camp on April 10th, 2016. The lodging was at the Crowne Plaza in Melbourne instead of the homey Pines. It took a little getting used to the new digs. Traveling by car to the paddling site was the biggest challenge and it took several days before we remembered all our gear.
A real plus was sunrise yoga on the ocean with incredible Anne Baker. We enjoyed the vistas as we moved through each asana. Each morning was a miracle of beauty, whether a calm or a turbulent ocean.

Sunrise Yoga
John Dyer is a font of wisdom, both in coaching and life experience. Each of us came away learning new ways to paddle, race, and appreciate our bench mates. We were joined by strong and capable paddlers from Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Miami. Under John’s direction, we became a cohesive team.

Coach John Dyer
Jim Farintosh, the camp director, worked hard to make staying at this new venue as seamless as possible. Many tweaks were in the works, so next year it will be better than ever.
