Safety

Safety is the number one priority at TRRA. Safety resources and guidelines are provided on the TRRA website that everyone in the paddling and rowing communities should refer to often. This includes the Paddling Safety Matrices for the 20-person dragon boat, the 10-person  dragon boat, and for Out-Rigger Canoe/Kayak paddlers.  Also included are the river conditions and Dragon Boat Guideline for Emergencies.

Although not mandatory, this video on river traffic safety is informative for paddlers and essential for steerers.

To better understand your rowing friends and round out your boating knowledge, this US Rowing Safety Video is very informative. Much of the information can be adapted to the OC and dragon boat.
