The Pittsburgh Paddlefish crossed over their 15th year as a competitive team. To celebrate, we had a reunion on July 29 at the wonderful Millvale Riverfront Pavillon. Over 70 people were able to attend.
The highlight was the pig roast orchestrated by our own member Hal. He even has his own roaster. The pig was farm raised and according to Hal “happy until he was not”. The meal was augmented with too much food from all our wonderful and generous team members.
A full dragon boat of past members and some novices braved the churning (from pleasure boats) waters of the Allegheny. We have had great paddlers in the past and they have not lost their form. Thanks to Rissa and Jacob for manning the stroke seats, and Laurie for remaining upright on the helm.
The Paddlefish had a great time seeing our past friends and celebrating our many years of successful paddling. Bonnie did a hard sell of the 50/50 raffle and our winner was Don. Word has it that his wife took his winnings!
