The Paddlefish volunteered at the Lake Arthur Regatta in Moraine State Park on Saturday August 2. The process started weeks before with Jim R. gathering information, surveying the site, and meeting with the event coordinators. He then recruited our ever energetic Steve W. to assist with getting two, 600 pound, 44 feet long dragon boats to the site. The journey is an hour by car and longer with this load in tow. A boat trailer was rigged (thanks Megan) to get to our destination.
The event was fun and the site fantastic. We had our usual committed volunteers from the team working at full steam to make this a well run event. And it was.
Thanks to all for the time and energy. You have to see the pictures to appreciate the effort it took to get this event underway and then again to close up shop.
Paddlefish, You Rock!
